With the HAL Airport perceived to be high on the terror radar the Intelligence Bureau (IB) is said to have communicated to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to beef up the security and to withdraw contracts that have been given those who are alleged to be related to the suspects of the failed terror bid on the Glasgow Airport.
Sources said, that the IB is said to have taken note of the contracts being offered to private parties and to keep a strict vigil on their activities.
At the HAL Airport, a number of services is being outsourced to private parties and the IB is said to have the authorities to freeze contracts that have been offered to those who are alleged to be relatives of the detained terrorists.
The contractor of the parking space at the Airport is said to be a close relative of the Haneef one of the suspects who has been detained.
Sources said the IB team had visited the airport and taken stock of the situation there.
“Sensitive installations like the Airport should have fool-proof security and can’t afford to take chances by allowing people with suspectable backgrounds to handle important operations there,” said sources.
