Karnataka Goshala Mahasangha came into existence in the premises of Sri Adichunchanagiri Math in Vijayanagar in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The Mahasangha which would serve as a banner organisation of Goshalas functioning across the country aims at conducting training classes for those who run Goshala and take up programmes to conserve the rare breeds of cow. Convener of the Mahasangha S K Mittal said that the organisation will work for sustainable rural development through Goshalas.
Founder Trustee L Shanthilal Choradiya said that the organisation will promote gober gas plants, vermiculture and organic farming. These activities make the farming community understand the necessity of cows, he felt.
Minister for Animal Husbandry Revu Naik Belamagi inaugurated the Mahasangha.
Adi Chunchangiri Math seer Balagangadharnath Swamy inaugurated the Goshala Sammelan by offering Gopooja.
