Talents award for talented
Nallapete Kalavathamma Rajagopal Shetty Charitable Trust of Tumkur will be organising talents award (Pratibha Puraskar) on July 15.
All the students who have secured highest marks in their SSLC examinations and students belonging to Vyshya community who have secured more than 85 per cent will be felicitated on the occasion.
Chairman of the Trust N S Rajagopal Shetty has stated this in a press note issued here that, scholarships would be provided to the students belonging to the Vyshya community and pursuing their PUC second year, on the occasion. Interested persons can call on: 99022 62964, for details.
Call to lead           simple life
Pontiff Basava Mahalinga Swamiji has called upon the people to lead a simple life.
He was speaking at the programme “Maneyangaladalli Mahamane” - organised by the District Basava Kendra, Mahila Basava Kendra and Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat, at the residence of Shivanna Bhadramma, here.
The pontiff said, one should give up caste, creed, status and other such identifications and live as simple human beings.
Human values should be given top priority. One must follow the principles of Sharana Dharma in order to lead a simple and righteous life, he added.
Ms Kavitha Krishna spoke on the Sharana Tatva principles. Prof Anasuyamma, Lalitha Mohan, Elerampura Rudramurthy, Dr D N Yogeesh and others were present on the occasion. Nanjappa welcomed and Shivanna proposed a vote of thanks.

Pilgrimage to Kashi
A pilgrimage to Kashi and surrounding places is being organised under the leadership of Tumkur Hiremath President Dr Shivananda Shivacharya Swamiji. Limited seats are available. For more details, interested persons can contact the office of the Hiremath, according to the manager.
Also, on July 16, a Veda study camp and Ashtottara recitation camp is being organised for women and youth. Interested persons can contact the office of the Math, for more details, in this regard.
Meeting on            July 14
The general body meeting of the district branch of the Senior and Junior Health Assistants Association will be held on July 14, at 10 am. A press note issued by General Secretary Vijayalakshmi here stated that, Ms Jayamma will preside over the meeting. It will also elect the new president of the association.
Distribution of books
The Bhavasar Kshatriya Yuvajana Sangha of Tumkur, will be distributing free stationary items and study materials among poor students, studying from first to 7th standard. Also, talent awards would be presented to students who have secured more than 80 per cent marks in the SSLC and PUC examinations on July 22, at a programme to be organised in the Pandurangaswamy Temple in Chickkapete.
