Four new post-graduate courses will commence on Mangalore University campus from the present academic year, with much emphasis on tuning the graduates into the professional world.
Thus the total PG courses inside the campus itself will be increasing to 33. Besides, three more PG courses will be initiated in three different autonomous colleges.
Informing this to media here on Thursday, Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof K M Kaveriappa said the two year-courses have unique features by their pedagogy and employability.
The university is going to start MSc in Radiation Physics, MSc in Organic Physics, Master of Sales and Marketing (MSM) and Master of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Meanwhile, MSc in Software Technology and MSc in Analytical Chemistry will be started in St Aloysius College, Mangalore and MSc in Holistic Psychological Counselling will be started in SDM College Ujire and School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya in Mangalore.
Prof Kaveriappa said the MSc in Radiation Physics will be under a twinning programme with Texas A&M University of USA, as per which the students who complete the course can undergo a one-year MSc in Nuclear Engineering under the Texas University.
The MSM course will be a super-speciality programme, which will feature the advantages of both MCom and MBA, with equal emphasis on theory and practice.
The uniqueness of the MSM and MHRD courses is that any graduate, either from humanities or science branches, can enter into them, provided he passes an entrance test.
