He burst into the scene after a long gap with his youthful and peppy performance in the Kannada film Neenello Naanalle, a remake of the blockbuster Telugu hit Nuvuvasthanante Nenuvadhentana.
He is back in action with two of his comedy flicks Satyavan Savithri and Tamashegaagi hitting the screens in recent weeks. Meet Aniruddha Jatkar, the affable upcoming actor who is now eagerly awaiting the release of Nali Naliyuta.
Aniruddha started his career as a theatre actor and has dabbled in interior designing and making ad films, before getting into films.
Says he, “everything started with the play Barrister in which I played a prominent role. In fact, after going through a lean patch and a phase of introspection, it was my role in the play that gave me a welcome break in the form of Manju and Ramesh Aravind offering me a guest role in their film Rama Shama Bhama. Eventually, I became their family member and I grew closer to Ramesh and Manju.”
He was more actively involved in acting on stage but went through a lean patch when he was not convinced about his involvement in theatre.
Today, he feels an actor needs a lot of patience and perseverance to succeed in this chosen career.
Aniruddha made his debut in movies with Dinesh Babu’s Chitra and followed it up in another Dinesh Babu’s movie Chitte, which pitted him in the lead opposite Chaya Singh.
Aniruddha acted in yet another Dinesh Babu’s movie titled Panchaali, as one of the five guys in pursuit of Rambha in the movie. He starred in Indrajeet Lankesh’s debut movie Tuntaata opposite Rekha and went on to act in Jyesta, Good Luck, Rama Shama Bhama and Lovva Illa Dovva. Aniruddha did a cameo in Nagesh Kukkoonoor’s Hindi film Dor, which was based on a true rural story that was shot mainly in Jodhpur and in Himachal Pradesh.
But, he has no complaints with Kukkunoor for not giving him his due. Says he, “Nagesh wanted a six footer Rajput guy who could appeal to the role that was conceptualised by him. I fitted the bill and so I did go on to go the role.”
Today, as a father of two children Jyesta and Shloka, Aniruddha believes that he is enjoying every moment of his work and is getting mentally prepared to don roles that are posing a challenge to his acting capabilities.
Says he, “Whatever happens it for good and whatever work you do sincerely comes back to you positively. I am happy that I got a good opportunity to portray the role that I did in Neenello… which had emotions, fun and everything tailormade for an actor.”
Recuperating from an accident that occurred while performing daring stunts in the movie Nali Naliyuta, Aniruddha said he did not realize the gravity of the accident until he was moved to the nearest hospital.
“I could not move my hand and I had to keep my hand in a static even while profusely bleeding. I play the role of a musician in the film Nali Naliyuta who is also a loner. You should watch the movie to know more about it,” he chuckles.
