The 23rd State-level inter-school Soundarya Cup volleyball championship for under-14 and under-17 boys and girls will begin at the Corporation stadium in Jayanagar on Friday.
Karnataka Volleyball Association general secretary and organising committee chairman K Nanda Kumar said the three-day event, organised by Spikers Youth Sports Club for high school and higher primary students, will attract some 2,500 players from 150 schools.
As many as 146 schools are from the City and Bangalore Rural district, while other four are from Hubli, Udupi, Mandya and Kolar.
The teams will be split into groups, from where they will advance to the Super league.
