Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council H K Patil has alleged that the government had been acquiring land around Bangalore for townships and industries without studying the impact of inordinate growth on the City.
Making a preliminary submission on an adjournment motion against the government on the acquisition of land, Mr Patil said that the government was adding up more than 450 sqkms of area to Bangalore city, whose area had already been extended to close to 800 sqkm with the formation of BBMP.
With this, pressure on the core area of the City will increase making life of the common public miserable, he said.
Floor leader D H Shankar Murthy opposed taking up the issue under adjournment motion.
