Post the critically acclaimed Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara, national award winning director Jahnu Baruah’s next Bollywood film is Har Pal which brings together the ‘never seen before’ pair of Shiney Ahuja and Preity Zinta.
And interestingly the film produced by Tito will be shot close to the internationally acclaimed Assamese filmmaker’s home ground – Shillong, which has been rightly termed the ‘Scotland of the East’.
“Regarding the film, there are a lot of things still in the pipe line. But I am happy to showcase the beauty of the North East through this film”, says the media-shy Baruah.
At a media conference jointly organised by Navjeevan Films and the Meghalaya tourism department, it was confirmed that Smit village in East Khasi Hills district has been finalised as the shooting destination.
Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja will be part of the 20-day Shillong shoot. Apart from the North Eastern hill station, the film will also be shot in Mumbai and Kolkata.
Har Pal has another Assamese connection in the form of model- actress Dipannita Sharma who also plays a character in the film.
There are reports that Amitabh Bachchan will also make an appearance in the film and if everything goes well, he too will be a part of the Shillong Shoot.
Sarfarosh ready for sequel: Aamir Khan
Media shirker Aamir Khan launched the DVD of Lagaan with much pomp and show and even appealed to every Indian to have a copy of the DVD.
In a recent interview, when the actor was asked as to which of his films would make a good sequel, Aamir promptly replied, “The only film that I can think of off hand which would make a good sequel is Sarfarosh.
I think that is one film that is ready for a sequel. The characters are there. It has ended on a note where ACP Rathod and his team can take on another case.
Or ACP Rathod can be show as maybe a DCP as times have changed in the last five years. Other films have ended. You can’t have a sequel to Rang De Basanti. Not with us, at least as we’ve died. Fanaa has ended too.”
So may be after Ghajini, Aamir would want to play a DCP.
Bobby’s lucky mascot
No shooting is ever completed without any incident and happy moments. Director duo Abbas-Mustan’s Naqab is not an exception either.
During the shooting of Naqaab in Dubai, Bobby Deol had taken his five-year-old son Aryaman and introduced the child to everybody on the sets.
In the presence of Aryaman, Bobby gave his best shot and it was okayed in one take! Everybody was very happy and Aryaman soon became lucky for his papa. Not only for Bobby, we are sure that his five-year-old son Aryaman will prove to be lucky for the film Naqaab- the most shocking thriller of the year too.
