C/O Footpath goes international
 C/o Footpath, the Kannada movie which earned popularity for being a movie made by a kid and for kids, is all set to be screened at two international film festivals.
The movie will be screened at the Giffony International Film Festival, being held in Italy from July 13 to 21.
It will be screened  under the ‘First Screen’ competitive segment with seven other children’s movies from different countries.
It will be the first Kannada movie to be screened at the Giffony Festival.
Another film festival where the movie will be screened is the Bhusan International Film Festival to be held in South Korea during August.
At a press conference by Kiran Movie Makers here on Saturday, 11-year-old Master Kishan, director of the movie, said he would also participate in these film festivals.
He will also be travelling to Andaman & Nicobar in August, where the Andamon & Nicobar Film & TV Association would present the Young Achievers Award to him and would screen C/O Footpath before tsunami-affected children.

Meeting on conversion
A meeting of “like-minded persons” held under the leadership of former Bihar governor Justice Rama Jois in Bangalore on Saturday unanimously resolved to urge the State government to bring in a legislation to ban religious conversions in Karnataka.
In a statement, Justice Jois said  the meeting also decided to urge the heads of religious institutions to write a letter to the Government highlighting the need for such an enactment.

‘Mining became racket during Cong time’
Mining activity in the State became a racket during the Congress regime led by former chief ministers S M Krishna and N Dharam Singh, alleged JD(S) legislator Y S V Datta.
Mr Datta on Saturday alleged that  the permission for mining was granted only to the firms having steel factories till the Congress government led by Mr Krishna assumed power and areas rich in minerals were declared as “protected areas.
”However, the Congress government relaxed the restrictions on these “protected areas  and haphazardly allowed individuals and firms to undertake mining activities “, he alleged.
