The people who were allotted sites by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in Lal Bahadur Shasthri Nagar and Shanthaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar recently moved closer to realising their dream homes as lots were drawn to allot site numbers at three places in the city, here on Sunday.
The final list of site allotment will be announced on MUDA website www.mudamysore.org at around 5 pm on July 16.
Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore Prof J Shashidhar Prasad kicked off the draw of lots for 30x40 and 40x60 sites at Rajendra Kalamandir on Ramanuja Road. Several hundreds of people including the site allottees and their family members were present on the occasion.
Two large screens were put up near the stage. If the list of allottees was displayed on the first one, the other showed the draw process and the site number in bold letters.
MUDA Commissioner H S Ashokananda who was present on the occasion announced that the allotment letters will be distributed at a function by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in the first week of August. MLA M K Somashekhar, MLC K T Srikantegowda were present.
While, District Incharge and Co-operation Minister G T Deve Gowda inaugurated the draw of lots for sites of dimension of 20x30 at Jayamma Govindegowda choultry in Kuvempunagar.
Noting that the authority will distribute 30,000 more sites in the future, he added that an area of 3,000 acres will be acquired for the purpose. KSOU Vice Chancellor Prof B A Viveka Rai, MLA H S Shankaralingegowda, MLC Marithibbegowda, MLC Thontadarya, DC S Selvakumar, MUDA Commissioner H S Ashokananda were present.
Kannada and Culture Minister H S Mahadeva Prasad kick started the draw Chikkamma Nikethana choultry also in Kuvempunagar.
MLC Chikkamadu, MCC Ciommissioner K N Chandrashekhar, former vice chancellor M Madaiah were present. In all lots were drawn for 1,212 sites of 30x40 dimension, 1,783 sites of 20x30 dimension, 675 sites of 40x60 dimension and 84 sites of 50x80 dimension.
