G C Shankar of the Association of Karnataka High School Assistant Teachers demanded that the government implement the final report of the Fifth Pay Commission without any modifications.
Addressing a press meet here on Sunday, he demanded that the government implement the new pay scale incorporated in the final report of the commission and thus eliminate the disparity meted out to the high school assistant teachers.
Until the implementation of the same the government should extend an ex gratia of Rs 200 to the teachers.
The senior teachers should be given weightage as the pay scale for both the senior and junior teachers is the same, he urged. Only senior high school assistant teachers should be appointed as the heads of the cluster centres, he also demanded. Extension of medical allowance even to the teachers of aided high schools was his other demand.
Mr Shankar also appealed to the teaching community to take part in large number in the state level convention organised by Karnataka Rajya Sarkari Noukarara Sangha on July 21 at the palace premises in Bangalore. Lingegowda, M R Raghu and T Rangappa were present at the meet.
