Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house by breaking open the front door at Chikkangalathota in Kadur on Saturday night.
Police informed that a certain Ramalingappa and his family were staying in the estate belonging to Prasad. The miscreants knocked the door on the pretext of asking drinking water.
When nobody opened the door, they broke open the door and entered the house. They also hit Ramalingappa with a bottle and decamped with Rs 2,000 and thali, ear ring and nose stud of his wife. They have also taken two sheep worth Rs 6,000. Police have rushed to the spot and investigations are on.
