A man in a coastal Orissa village brutally killed his 6-year-old son on Saturday after the minor reportedly ate away his share of aloo chops (potato cutlet).
The local police have arrested Ramesh Naik, a resident of Nima Sahi village in Narasinghpur police station area limits in coastal Cuttack district, after registering a murder case against him.
According to a report from Narasinghpur, Ramesh, a daily wage labourer, had gone to refresh himself, after having told his mother that he would have the aloo chops which he had just bought from the market, along with pakhala (watered rice). However, when he returned he found that his son, Rakesh, had already consumed the snacks.
An enraged Ramesh then severely beat up his son. Later, he strangulated the minor with the wooden handle of a hammer. Rakesh died on the spot.
The local police who were informed of the same by the villagers, reached the spot and arrested Ramesh.
