Mixed luck for Bhushan
Ajay Bhushan overcame a mid-game slump to register a 4-2 (67-25, 77-42, 81-55, 12-63, 40-98, 75-60) win over Delhi’s Puspender Singh of Delhi in the selection trials for the IBSF World under-21 snooker championship at the KSBA Hall in Bangalore on Sunday.
But the Karnataka cueist later suffered a crushing 0-4 (56-57, 24-60, 1-71, 30-75) defeat against West Bengal’s Shahbaaz Adil Khan.
Meanwhile, Karnataka’s Balaji Reddy also suffered a 3-4 defeat at the hands of West Bengal’s Shabaaz adil.

Super Division from August 1
The Bangalore District Football Association will conduct the remaining Super Division matches of the last season from August 1 to 11 at the Bangalore Football Stadium.
The matches had been postponed due to Hindustan Aeronautical Sports Club’s assignments in the National Football League.
The league restarts with a tie between HASC and Postal Department on August 1 at 4 pm.
Inter-school volleyball meet
Karnataka Volleyball Association will conduct a state-level tournament for high school boys and girls from July 16 to 23 at the Sree Kanteerava outdoor courts. Around 55 boys and 50 girls teams are expected to take part in the tournament, which will also serve as trials to select the sub-junior and mini State teams.
State-ranking TT championship
Mysore District Table Tennis Association will conduct the K C Bimbesh Memorial State-ranking table tennis championship from July 26 to 29 at Vontikoppal Club, V V Puram, Mysore. Entries should reach M Narayanaswamy , No:662, 13th Main, 4th Stage, T K layout, Mysore on or before July 21.
