Ruing the bad state of art schools across the State, J M S Mani, retired principal of Ken School of Art, on Sunday made a fervent appeal to all art schools to come up with remedial measures to preserve them.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by Ken School Old Students and Well Wishers’ Association for his contribution to art, Mani said, “The management and teachers play an important role in providing good facilities and imparting quality education to art students.”
He also urged students not to get carried away by private art schools, which function only for monetary gain and give less importance to academics.
Artist K T Shivaprasad lauded Mani for his contribution in developing Ken School as a model art school in the City.
