Anup in line for treble

MD Anup Kiran had a field day, storming into the semifinals of three categories -- men’s, boys’ under-19 singles and doubles -- in the III Narasimha Memorial State-ranking badminton tournament at the Malleswaram Association courts here on Monday.
In the men’s section, Anup sweated little while setting aside the challenge from Y Sumeeth in straight games 21-8, 21-4.
In the boys’ under-19 quarterfinal, Anup faced some resistance from Darshan Kulkarni before emerging a 21-14, 21-12 victor. Later in the day, Anup joined Pratik to make it to the doubles semis, vanquishing Prakash and Pratap 21-17, 21-14.
