Bangalore Urban district accounted for nearly 75 per cent of the stamp and registration fee collected by the State in the year 2006-07, Revenue Minister Jagadeesh Shettar informed the Assembly, on Monday.
Replying to a query raised by Mr Jayaprakash Hegde (Ind) during the question hour, Mr Prakash said that of the Rs 3,303 crore fee collected during 2006-07, Bangalore Urban district accounted for Rs 2,586.11 crore. “As compared to 2005-06 figure, the revenue increase was Rs 10,53.26 crore”, he added.
Though, the property guidance value was revised every year, in Bangalore, it was not done the same across the state . “Whenever a sub-committee headed by tahsildar makes a recommendation for revising the guidance value, it is done”, he added.
The Minister admitted that all over the state there was a boom in property rate.
When Mr J C Madhuswamy(JDu) complained against stoppage of “piece land registration” in villages, the Minister assured the member that he would take steps to solve the problem.
Use of CNG
Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment C Chennigappa informed the House that Pune-based Central Institute of Road Transport had been asked to submit a report on the use of CNG in all Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation(BMTC) buses.
Replying to a query raised by Mr Ivan Nigli (Nominated), Mr Chennigappa said a preliminary study had indicated that about Rs 30 lakh would be needed to run all BMTC buses on CNG as in Delhi.
The step was very much needed to reduce pollution in the City.
Replying to Mr Roshan Baig (Cong), Mr Chennigappa said that to check the noise pollution especially by autorickshaws, the RTO authorities had written letters with regard to the change in design of silencers.
