Women of Motakuppalli village along with their children gheraoed the Gram Panchayat secretary on Monday morning and protested.
The women barged into the office of the taluk panchayat without any intimation and gheraoed G Venkateshaiah, gram panchayat secretary.
Motakuppalli village is still backward and downtrodden.The village has not witnessed any developmental works so far. However, money is being drawn in the name of the village’s development. Nearly Rs 50,000 has been used for installing a pipe of merely 5 meters!
How can you draw money on behalf of the village’s development, when there are no street lights, drinking water in the village. Moreover, the water in the village has a high concentration of flouride. The village has no sanitation facilities and also the grants given to the Women’s self help groups (SHGs) has not been sanctioned to them.
Even if we want to complain about the prevailing conditions, the secretary hardly visits our village, the women demanded.
