The works on 3rd phase of Malpe Fisheries Harbour is likely to commence soon, said Minister for Fisheries B Nagaraj Shetty.

Inaugurating the Ice Plant of Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation (KFDC) at Malpe harbour on Sunday, Mr Shetty said that a team from the Centre will visit Malpe in couple of weeks and the works will be taken up based on the report submitted by the team.

Mr Shetty also informed that the Hejamady fisheries jetty would be converted into an all-weather jetty soon. Earlier, he also inaugurated the high mast lamp installed by Malpe Mechanised Trawl Boat Fishermen’s Co-operative Society and distributed life jackets to fishermen.
