Various political parties and organisations have urged the Chief Minister to seek the help of the Central government and Anti-Naxal Squads from and neighbouring states.
Addressing a press meet, they said innocent tribals have lost their life in the Naxal-police gunfight at Amladlu recently. A certain Ramegowdlu’s elder son went missing from the day of the encounter.
This has lead to suspicion in the minds of the people. To know the truth about the encounter, the government should order a judicial probe into the incident.
They said the encounter was done to please the communal forces. None of the MLAs and MPs visited the spot, they alleged.
They called upon the government to appoint a competent and efficient official to the Anti Naxal Squad and stop harassing the localites.
A sum of Rs 10 lakh each should be paid to the family members of those innocents who were killed in encounter, they demanded.
“Naxalites in the name of fight against the communal forces, corruption, MNCs are looting the people like dacoits,” they said.
A special officer should be appointed for the development of a village under Bharatha Nirmana Yojane in the Kudremukh National Park limits. Government should not give room for the violence and gun battle and arrest the Naxalites at the earliest. They also urged the police to trace the missing Ramegowdlu’s son Prashantha.
District Congress Spokesperson M L Murthy, Gurushanthappa of Raitha Sangha, DSS Convenor Radhakrishna, CPI district Secretary B Ahmmmed among others were present.
