As many as 36 more schools coming under the umbrella of Karnataka Unaided Schools Managements Association (KUSMA) filed undertakings through affidavits on Wednesday. KUSMA advocate G R Mohan said that previously, more than 100 schools had filed the affidavits.
“Out of the remaining schools, many have filed similar affidavits before the respective DDPIs or already paid the administrative charges under the voluntary scheme,” he said.

Maheshwar Swami Hiremath, counsel for Karnataka State Primary Schools Managements Federation (KSPSMF) said that about 200 schools coming under the Federation’s umbrella have filed such undertakings, till date. More than 100 other individually petitioning schools have also filed similar undertakings.
As per the High Court order, the recognition of the schools undertaking to use Kannada or mother tongue as medium for this year’s first standard admissions, would be continued till their petitions against derecognition are disposed of.
They are also exempted from paying the administrative charges under the voluntary scheme till then, and further to continue English medium for the students studying in second standard to fifth standard.
