Nurse Jayalakshmi in suicide bid again
Bangalore, DHNS:
Nurse Jayalakshmi popped in sleeping pills at her Yeshwanthpur residence in the early hours of Thursday.

In yet another attempt to end her life, nurse Jayalakshmi popped in sleeping pills at her Yeshwanthpur residence in the early hours of Thursday.

Around 2:30 am, a few well-wishers got suspicious when she didn’t receive their calls. They alerted the police and rescued her by shifting her to M S Ramaiah Hospital. Currently, she is in the ICU and she is said to be out of danger.

Jayalakshmi had tried to commit suicide alleging harassment by Honnali BJP MLA Renukacharya.

She had tried to commit suicide in April by consuming poison. A traffic constable found her in an unconscious state in her car near Kumara Park West. He admitted her to the hospital. She had spent a week there.

A case of attempt to commit suicide under Section 309 IPC has been registered at Yeshwanthpur police station. A similar case is pending against her at Seshadripuram police station.

“Doctors are not allowing us to take statements from Jayalakshmi, but we have asked them to collect body fluids and blood samples, which will be sent to the forensic science laboratory,” said a police officer.

Jayalakshmi, who runs nursing colleges in the City, had vowed to expose the legislator. “I will release a CD soon to establish my relationship with Renukacharya,” she had said.

The CD is yet to see light of the day. Police recently arrested a man from Honnalli for making threatening calls to Jayalakshmi.
