Members of the State Government employees federation staged a dharna in front of the Sub divisional officer’s premises on Thursday in protest against many issues in the administration including, privitisation, loopholes in the fifth pay commission, restriction of the retirement benefits and others.
They demanded that the recomendations of the Fifth Pay Commission be implemented as they are, intereste rates on KGID, GPF and small saving schemes and daily wage workers should be confirmed as permanent employees.

They also added that the new pension scheme should be abolished immediately and the Maharashtra Government’s model should be applied for the benefits to the Anganwadi workers and helpers.
They even demanded that all the government positions that are vacant should be filled up immediately. Shouting slogans against the state government, the portesters then submitted a memoradum to the Tahsildhar Poornima.
The protest was lead by the district president of the State Government employees federation P Rama Krishna and included the vice president M Nataraj, General Secretary Ramesh Dakulgi, Taluk president of the federation K N Chandrashekar, vice president Suresh, General secretary P R Chikkanarsa Reddy, treasurer M Narayana Swamy, District Education sangh’s M Suresh, Hanumanthappa, Nagarathna from the Anganwadi workers Sangh and others.
