Harry is a Horcrux
Nithya Rajshekhar and Pragya Krishna
Two young Potter fans have come up with possibilities as to how the final book will end. Interested? Read on...

Warning! These are just theories of Harry Potter 7 and there is no way to know for certain that they will come true. It’s your choice to believing them or not to.

1. Snape is good: From the events of the last book, one might consider Potions master Prof Snape as evil. After all, he killed Dumbledore. But things don’t fit in place if that was really the situation. We all trust Dumbledore and his judgement. How could he be wrong about Snape? In fact, Snape was a double agent and we saw him trying to help Draco on his mission many times.

Snape was just playing his part. He had also taken the Unbreakable Vow, I believe, against his wish. Moreover, he had to prove his loyalty to Voldemort. At the time of Dumbledore’s death, I’m sure he noticed the second broom as well and knew Harry was there, but didn’t do anything about it. Then came Dumbledore’s pleading.
Even Harry couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Maybe Dumbledore was pleading with Snape to move on with his mission, because if he failed, Snape would die and the Order would lose their agent. Dumbledore’s death was essential for Voldemort’s downfall. As Lupin said, “It comes down to whether or not you trust Dumbledore’s judgement.” I do. Therefore, I trust Severus.

2. Harry is a Horcrux: This is what almost every fan who has heard this theory fears the most! Why? Because, if Harry is indeed a Horcrux, then he will die! Here’s why we believe he is a Horcrux. Dumbledore suggested Nagini as a possible Horcrux, so we know a piece of the soul can be put into living beings. Everything about Harry’s connection to Voldemort is known to us.

Harry can speak Parseltongue, can sense his emotions and enter his mind. Can all this happen only because of the scar? In the Book 2, Harry asks Dumbledore why he can speak Parseltongue; Dumbledore says that Voldemort transferred some of his powers to Harry unintentionally.

The theory is that Voldemort intended to make Harry a Horcrux from Harry’s own death, but because of his mother’s protection, Voldemort accidentally made Harry a Horcrux from Lily Potter’s death and so couldn’t kill him. We are all crossing our fingers hoping that he isn’t a Horcrux. Even if he was, he could survive.

3. R A B is Regulus Black: Everybody remembers the note Harry pulled out of the fake locket toward the end of Half Blood Prince. Albus Dumbledore’s death, partly because of a fake locket in a long chain of events, is not forgettable. Every Potter-freak is obsessively interested in the identity of R A B.

It is now predicted, and theories are based on the assumption, that R A B is indeed Regulus Black. The reason behind this, the vein that supports this whole theory, is just one line in Order of the Phoenix, Page 108 of the UK edition. This happened while the glass cabinets in the House of Black were being cleaned. It is a list of things they find: “There was a musical box that emitted a faintly sinister.... slam it shut, a heavy locket that none of them could open, a number of ancient seals...” The initials, obviously, also have a role in the assumption.

This theory is further backed by the scene Half Blood Prince that occurs in Hogsmeade, when Harry corners Mundungus and we find out that he has been stealing the Black family’s treasures. It is not usual for scenes in Harry Potter to be put in without further relevance. This scene seems to be pointing to the fact that Mundungus has been stealing from Sirius’ house, and he probably took something valuable and of great relevance to the future. What fits this description more perfectly than a Horcrux?

Yet another fact to support this theory is that Regulus Black died in the year of Harry’s birth. There is a scene in Order of the Phoenix where Harry and Sirius are examining the Black family tree. We assume it points to a tangled chain of events before Harry’s birth, attached somehow to the prophecy about Harry and Voldemort. It is, therefore, a very likely theory, and happens to be very popular. It explains a lot of things that Potter fans have been dying to know.
