Governor returns PR Bill  
Governor T N Chaturvedi has returned the Karnataka Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2007, which was passed by both Houses of the State Legislature during the budget session, asking it to reconsider the Bill.

Janata Dal (U) leader J C Madhuswamy on Thursday made a scathing attack on Power and PWD Minister H D Revanna for reportedly favouring some select constituencies in sanctioning development works.

Gram Panchayat and Gram Sabha members of Mangalore and Mandya districts staged a protest rally here on Thursday, in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue, urging the State government to withdraw Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2007 passed in April this year.
