According to District Statistics Officer K Ramesh Upadhya, only one person is looking after statistics in the entire district.

Statisticians are specialists who work with people from other professional backgrounds to solve practical problems, stated Mangalore University Post-Graduate Department of Statistics Chairman Prof T P M Pakkala.
