Two-day music festival concludes

The two-day 27th musicians aradhana mahotsav organised by the city’s Gayana Samaj came to an end with musicians from all over the country enthralling the listeners.

The mahotsav was inaugurated in the presence of Kannada and Culture department assistant director Venkatachalapati, by advocate Srinath. Later nadaswar vidwan Venkataravanappa and his group performed . Music students and many other artistes performed.

In the afternoon more treat was in store with vidushi nada chintamani Manjula Jagadish and her troup’s musical programme, followed by Vanarashi Balakrishnabhagavatar and his troup’s Yoginareyana Yateendra sankeertana songs, nada chintamani vidwan B Raghunath, Tirupati and his troup also sang to the people’s heart’s content.

In the evening in the presence of nada chintamani Pudukottainathan Tirupati, former home minister Chowda Reddy, Kaivara dharmadikari M R Jayaram, Srinivasapura’s Byreswara Vidya Samsthe’s M Sriramareddy, city Brahma Chaitanya Sri Rama Mandira president Venkateshmurthy were felicitated.

Later, the audience were treated to a beautiful music ‘sangeet kavyadare,’ by former legislator nada chintamani Saikrishnachandra of Venkatgiri samsthan. Pudukottai R Ramanathan on the violin and Tirupati Manjunath on the tabla accompanied him. Vidwan Mukund’s flute concert, Karnataka Kalashri K V Rangaiyengar violin, Vasudevarao’s mrudunga vidwan M Dayanand Mohite’s ghatam all were a treat to listen to.

On the second day in the morning after vidwan L Y Srinivasreddy and his disciples and gana Sarswathi Vardaraj’s music performance, in the afternoon Ramaswamy’s pancharatna kritis were rendered beautifully by Nandi Talavadya academy troup.

In the evening Chennai’s vidwan R Surya prakash’s classical rendering was accompanied by Mushtam Rajarao on mrudingam, V Raghavandra on violin and Vysavittala played the kanjara.Legislator Dr M C Sudhakar participated. Gayana Samaj founder secretary L Y Srinivasareddy was the man behind the show.
