Lohan surrenders for May crash
Lindsay Lohan, 21, under arrest on suspicion of driving under alcoholic influence, has turned herself in to police in connection with a car crash, reports AP.
Accompanied by her attorney, the actress surrendered at the Beverly Hills Police Department on Thursday to be fingerprinted and photographed. Lohan’s blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was above .08, California’s legal limit. Lohan was released on her own recognisance. A court date was scheduled for August 24.
World’s tallest tower in Dubai
Burj Dubai is now officially the tallest man-made structure in the world, reports WAM. The tower scaled 510 metres to beat the Taipei Towers that stands at 507.3 metres tall. Although the height of the skyscraper has been kept under wraps, it is believed Burj Dubai will end up somewhere between 705 and 950 metres.When completed, it will have between 154 to 180 floors.
McCartney, Mills quite stubborn
Beatles legend Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills have still not reached a consensus over a divorce settlement, reports IANS.
The Times newspaper claims Paul offered $40 million to Mills, who had asked for nothing less than $100 million of his estimated $1.65 billion fortune.
An unidentified lawyer told the newspaper: “It could well go to trial because they are both quite stubborn.”
Hilton working on second album
Paris Hilton has said she is working on her second album, reports IANS.
The hotel heiress, who was recently released after serving a 23-day jail sentence, told E! Online, “I’m already working on my new record”. The 26-year-old celebrity socialite was dropped by record label Warner Bros after her first album Paris failed to catch the fancy of the audience.

Television hostess Oprah Winfrey is the richest female celebrity in the world, reports IANS.
Oprah pipped Sandra Bullock, Madonna, Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman to sit pretty at number one spot in OK! magazine’s Top 10 Female Breadwinners list, with a $1.5 billion net worth.
Some other celebrities in the top 10 are Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry and Jessica Alba, also the youngest star on the list.
Spears is back in black for new music video
Troubled pop singer Britney Spears is back in black for her new music video Get Back, reports IANS.
She treated her fans to a sneak peek at her new widow look by donning a black dress and a black hat with a veil for the promo, which she shot in California, contactmusic.com reported.
Kylie goes to France to see ex-lover's dog
Pop superstar Kylie Minogue is reportedly travelling frequently to her ex-boyfriend Oliver Martinez’s French home — to spend time with his dog, reports IANS.
A source close to the singer insists that reconciliation with her former lover is not on Kylie’s mind and that her trips were solely to see his Rhodesian ridgeback dog Sheeba, The Sun newspaper reported.
The source says: “Kylie and Oliver are not back together. Kylie has told us she only has eyes for Sheeba. It was the walks with her when she was struggling through cancer treatment which kept her sane.”
