EMS denies lawlessness in Kerala
Trivandrum, July 21
Mr EMS Namboodiripad, Chief Minister of Kerala, today strongly refuted the allegations that there was lawlessness in the State and the police force had become ineffective.
Addressing a public meeting organised by the Communist Party tonight, the C M said that till now the police and the administrative machinery were being used by a handful of rich people to suppress mass movements of workers and peasants. Government wanted to put a stop to this state of affairs and run the administration on different lines.
Ministers to lead Small Savings drive
Bangalore, July 21
The Mysore Government will soon launch an intensive drive to “mop up” small savings to the State, it is reliably learnt.
The Cabinet, which is making a serious business of it is expecting Minister’s themselves to give a lead by making personal investments in the Small Savings Scheme every month.

State to give one TMC water
Bangalore, July 21
The State Government would release one TMC of water from the Kabini reservoir to Tamil Nadu on an ad hoc basis for seven days. Minister of State for Major and Minor Irrigation B B Chimmanakatti told the Assembly today.
The Minister explained that the decision was taken on “humanitarian grounds” in response to an SOS from the Tamil Nadu Government.
