Defending champions Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinnappa retained the men's and women's titles respectively in the 55th Senior National Squash Championships on Saturday.
The top-seeded Ghosal crushed third-seeded Maharashtrian Siddharth Suchde 9-2, 9-3, 9-0, while Tamil Nadu's Joshna outplayed State-mate Deepika Pallikal 9-2, 4-9, 9-5, 9-1.
In the absence of the injured Ritwik Bhattacharya, Saurav made short work of the lanky Siddharth with his all-court game in about 40 minutes to take his second successive title. His first title came in 2004.
For Joshna, it was her seventh title, and fifth in a row.
Deepika did make a strong bid, storming back to take the second game after losing the first rather tamely. She fought hard in the third game too, but Joshna wrapped it up 9-5, and from then on, Deepika just did not stand a chance.
