Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy called upon government employees to implement government schemes properly for the prosperity of Karnataka.
Addressing the State-level conference of Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association at the Palace Ground on Saturday, he asked the employees of revenue department to work hard and sincerely to double the resource mobilisation. He however asked the employees not to make people run from pillar to post. Talking about various demands, Kumaraswamy said, he would not be able to speak on these issues when the legislature session is in progress. About the demand for the regularisation of services of daily wagers, Mr Kumaraswamy said, steps would be initiated after the cabinet committee submits its report in this regard. Regarding the demand for recruitment drive, Kumaraswamy said recruitment was already going on in police department, following the intensified activities of Naxalites.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa advised the government officials to try to increase accountability and responsiveness. This was necessary as the government employees are losing public faith because of the misdeeds of some people, said Mr Yediyurappa.
