A certain part of the City was recently all abuzz. And why not when the beautiful damsel of Bollywood — the ever glowing Katrina Kaif was there to grace the occasion. While excited fans waited for over two hours to catch a glimpse of the star, she entered surrounded by bouncers and guards. Though the floral decoration and the set glowed, Katrina herself was dressed in a simple yet elegant red churidaar. The euphoric flutter of the cameras and the chatter and frowns of the crowd were treated alike and when it was time to shoot questions, there was no stopping the crowd. Her politically and situationally correct answers always ended with a smart grin, making the task look really simple. 

“It has a peaceful environment and I felt away from the world,” was Katrina’s first reaction after entering the spa centre which she had come to inaugurate.  From having been a model in London to entering Bollywood and now holding the mantle of the future of the Indian film industry, she has come a long way. Delivering three back-to-back hits last year and being labelled the world’s sexiest woman are not the only feathers in her crown, and when she was asked to comment on it, her reply was: “I thank people for voting me as the sexiest woman and they are ones who have made my movies a hit by coming to watch them.’’

    Her career has seen a great upsurge and her hopes from Singh is Kinng are as high as any of the fans. When quizzed whether she carries off sardarni roles better, she smiles, “You should tell me that!” On being featured on the cover page of Cosmopolitan, she says, “The amount collected from the magazine goes for a good cause.” The evening concluded amidst laughter and appreciation of her tactful humour as Ms Goody Two Shoes obliged to leave her message for the guys in Bangalore. “This spa centre is open for both men and women. Men should come here too for the wonderful natural remedy and who knows who you might meet downstairs,” she grinned.
