A Tiptur bundh has been called for on July 23 demanding the widening of NH 206 and bringing Hemavathi water to Tiptur and other lakes in the taluks. The bundh assumes significance as the call is given by the ruling party’s legislator B Nanjamari.
More than 40 people have died in the road accidents on this narrow stretch of road and some of them have lost their limbs.
In spite of this neither the State government nor the Public Works department has done anything.
This time the bundh is going to be a bit different.
The police have taken all precautions to see that no untoward incidents occur, said the department sources.
