The state-wide strike by City Municipal Council employees in support of their demands entered seventh day on Sunday. All civic employees are already in agitation in front of the local legislator’s residence B K Sangameswar.
Further the political parties asked the employees to withdraw their strike in the light of the efforts being made by the Government to resolve the issue, seem to have no impact on them.
The situation may worsen when the employees stop the water supply in a day or two.
Garbage clearance has come to a standstill in the town. People of the Thimmaiah Market and its surrounding areas are facing hardship as heaps of garbage have been strewn on the roadside.
President of the Municipal Council Association H R Manjunath and P Venkatesh, Member of state association and other office bearers have taken the lead in the strike.
The Municipal Association office bearers submitted a memorandum to the legislator for immediate relief and to consider their demands immediately.
