There was need to spread scientific knowledge at rural level, Deputy Director of Public Instructions C U Chandrashekhar said.
Presiding over the anniversary programme of ‘Mane Mane Vignana Dasoha’ (Door-to-door Science Campaign) organised here on Sunday, he said that development of scientific knowledge was most important aspect in the present times. So, the campaign launched to create scientific awareness should become fruitful in coming days.
He said that there were many science clubs in schools and 60-70 percent of them were actively in the region. Hence, such programmes should be extended to taluk and rural levels too. Inaugurating the programme, Psychiatrist Dr K Nagaraj Rao said that house was the base for the society. The organisation of scientific discussions at houses was a sign of human development. This programme would held children know about the significance of science in life.
Prof M R Nagaraju, V S S Shastri, Halappa, N Kaleshwar Rao and Panchaksharaiah were present. Talks on ‘Stars, Moon and other sciences were held on the occasion.
