Drama was the champion of all forms of literature, Dr C Shivalingappa, Head of Kannada Department of Challakere Degree College said.
Speaking after inaugurating a workshop on theatre arts at Basaveshwara Medical College here on Saturday, he noted that drama was a means of entertainment in the olden days. But now this ancient literary form was losing its ground. He said that drama was a highly influential medium in the society.
It had the power to enhance the cultural life and give a meaningful shape as the aesthetics. Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru presided over the programme. SJM Vidyapeetha Secretary S K Basavarajan, S S Siddaraju, Dr G N Mallikarjunappa and others were present. A drama ‘Sayuvavane Chiranjeevi’ was staged on the occasion.
