St Aloysius College in Mangalore is starting a Master’s Degree programme in Software Technology from this academic year.
According to a press release, the government of Karnataka and Mangalore University have approved this course, which is the first of its kind in Karnataka.  The course has been introduced to enable those who have completed  BSc Computer Science , BCA  or BE (Computer Science/ IT). This course will enable students to complete Master’s degree in two years and will prepare them to join the software industry, the release said.
The course, designed in consultation with the software industry intends to prepare professionals as per industry requirements. It is estimated to have a higher value than MCA and involves three semesters theoretical input and one semester of project work in software industry. The graduates who complete this programme course will be placed in good software companies through campus recruitment. The college has already drawn up MoU with companies like EMC and Robosoft for placement of its graduates.
