Reality shows are here to stay and how. With each passing day, television channels are out to outdo each other in providing the viewer variety in their content, and reality shows are no different. After the highly popular Sarigamapa and Kuniyonu Baara shows, Zee Kannada has now brought in Chittara, a reality show for children. Yet another talent hunt competition, Chittara has children between six and 12 years of age exhibiting their talent in less than three minutes. Talents are exhibited under dance, music, acting, magic show and other categories.
The show, open to children across the State, has 360 contestants in the first round. Every week, six participants are selected from each category. In the next stage, the number is whittled down to 180 children who now have to present their talent in 90 seconds. Only 54 participants will be selected to the final round, wherein each contestant gets only a minute.
Finally, three winners will be selected. Viewers can sms their choice and vote for their Favourite Tiny Tot too. Chittara is telecast at 5 pm from Monday to Friday. It is interesting to note here that most of the reality shows are turning into grooming workshops for aspiring singer-actor/actresses.
