Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a demonstration in Kolar on Monday condemning the vandalism of a private TV channel TV 9’s offices and assaulting its journalists, in Mangalore on Sunday night.
In the protest held at the Mahatma Gandhi park, the protesters demanded that the miscreants be rounded up immediately and the necessary legal  action be  taken against them.
They also expressed their  concern over the rising incidents against the media and said that this hindered the fundamental right to free expression.
The State general Secretary of the Vedike Jayadev Prasanna, District chief Kodandramaiaha, and others led the protest.
Leaders M K Raghavendra, Prabhakar, G Chitra Ramesh, Sundar Murthy, Naseer Khan, M R Lokesh, Narasimha Murthy, Chinna Venkatesh, Narasimha Murthy,   Begli K Srininvas, G Musiswamy, Grace Santhosh Kumari  and others participated in the  protest.
