A team of scientists from the State Silk Research and Development Organisation recently visited several mulberry plantations in the taluk and conducted a survey.
Scientist Dr U D Bongale, Branch Chief Dr P G Radhakrishna, Chief of Planning S Puttaswamy and others provided several information about mulberry cultivation to the farmers.
The team of members informed to Deccan Herald that they were providing information on the spot to the farmers regarding farming as per the programme under the NABARD.
Also the team appreciated progressive farmer Appaiahswamy, who grew mulberry on the lines of dry farm cultivation.
Also present on the occasion were M C Chandrappa, Lamani, Narasimhamurthy.
