People urged to observe Kodagu bundh on July 30
DH News Service,Madikeri:

Kodagu Astitva Horata Samiti has appealed the people to observe Kodagu Bundh on July 30 if the government does not withdraw the circular regarding jamma bane land within two days, which also reiterated that its decision on conducting ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ on the same day, is firm.
The appeal was made during a meeting of the Kodagu Astitva Horata Samiti held under the presidentship of Samiti Convener M N Belliappa at Kodava Samaja here on Monday.
Addressing the meet, MLA K G Bopaiah said the struggle has become inevitable as the urge to withdraw the circular over the past several months has gone futile. If the government does not withdraw  them well before July 25, Vidhana Sough should be gheraoed instead of holding Vidhana Soudha Chalo, he appealed.
At least two members from one family should take part in July 30’s protest. A minimum of one lakh people should involve in the struggle, he requested.
The leaders think of offering baagina to the reservoirs when they are full, but they are not thinking of wiping the tears of the people, Mr Bopaiah criticised.
Meanwhile, former MLA A K Subbaiah challenged that he would retire from public life if Revenue Department Principal Secretary S M Jamadar confirm the High Court order that Kodagu land holders did not have the right on bane land.
Mr Jamadar had issued the circular against the HC order. There is a treachery of environmentalists behind this who have an eye on foreign fund, he alleged.
Former minister M C Nanaiah expressed his confidence that the government would certainly withdraw the circular. He also suggested to involve the MLAs of Mandya in the Vidhana Soudha Chalo struggle.
District Congress President Veena Acchaiah, JD(S) Minority Unit President M M Tahir, Bane Hakku Rakshana Samiti leader Neravanda Umesh, Gowda Okkuta President Totambailu Nanaiah among others were present on the occasion.
