S Chetan scored a hard-fought 3-1 win over Sameer Sait in the 35th B S Sampath Memorial handicap billiards tournament at the KSBA hall on Monday.
Chetan won 9-50, 53-14, 53-12, 50-22 in a close encounter.
In another match, BV Srinivasa Murthy had to put his best foot forward to edge out a fighting R Umadevi by three frames to two. BVS pulled off an 18-51, 10-50, 51-15, 51-34, 50-40 verdict.
