The body of a school boy, who was kidnapped was thrown into in a 3,500 feet deep gorge at Theerapalli, near KGF was recovered on Monday.
Seven-year-old Ajit, son of Narayanappa and Renuka of Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh, was abducted by a gang of four people, when he was playing in front of his house last Friday. The gang had demanded a ransom of Rs 2 lakh. On receiving the call, Ajit’s father, who is a businessman, had lodged a complaint with the Kuppam Police. Kuppam Circle Inspector T Venkatesh and Sub Inspector Nanjundachari alerted the nearby police stations. The police caught hold of Imran, Dinesh and Noorulla while moving in suspicious manner. However, another abductor Ramnath of Bangalore managed to escape.
Based on the information provided by Noorulla, the police retrieved the body from the gorge with the assistance of the fire brigade.
