Pourakarmikas, govt to meet
The State government will convene a meeting with leaders of pourakarmikas to find an amicable solution to their demands and put an end to their on-going agitation. Intervening during a discussion on the strike by pourakarmikas across the State, DyCM B S Yediyurappa said that the government had an open mind to regularise the services of 4,500 daily wage pourakarmikas in urban local bodies. The government only needed time as the regularisation had to be made based on the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court.
Increase in honorarium
Bangalore, dhns: The State Cabinet on Monday approved a proposal to increase the honorarium for guest lecturers in the government Industrial Training Institute (ITIs).
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S Horatti told reporters after the meeting that honourarium would be hiked to Rs 100 per class from the present Rs 50. With this hike, a guest lecturer would be able to draw up to Rs 6,000 per month depending upon the number of classes allotted to them every week.
The Cabinet also agreed to dismiss six employees involved in the Khanapura police training institute irregularities,Mr Horatti said.Nine persons were involved in the irregularities.
