Jayashree’s daughters Vijayalaxmi (8) and Prabhavati (4) were studying in II  standard and LKG respectively. Bheem Shankar, is running a hotel near Venkatadri estate premises. However, the police said that Jayashree, who was suffering from stomach ache could have taken this extreme step fearing her children's future.

People’s Union for Civil Liberties-Karnataka has urged the Government to order a judicial inquiry into the murder of A T Babu, state convener of the National Alliance of People's Movement (NAPM). It has also demanded the government to pay compensation to the family of the departed social activist, who was hacked to death on July 21 Catholic nun, Sister Celia from the Ursuline Congregation said, "We will not give up our campaign against the liquor mafia. We are launching a protest with on Thursday  on M G Road. We want a CBI inquiry," she added. Two suspects have been arrested so far.

Man kills wife

Ramamurthy Reddy pushed his wife Janaki (28) to death from II floor of their 23rd Main 2nd Sector HSR Layout residence on Tuesday night.

The couple have two children. Reddy was unemployed for the past five months after he suffered loss in cement business.

 According to Janaki's brother, off late Reddy was suspicious of his wife and quarreled with her over several issues.

The police have arrested Reddy.

Thief attacks cops

Two constables Shivanna and Siddaramaiah (Crime Wing), attached to the Ashoknagar police station sustained injuries when a vehicle lifter allegedly attacked them with a knife on Tuesday evening, near Kamakshipalya bus stop.

They are undergoing treatment at Thirumala Hospital and are out of danger, said the Kamakshipalya police.
