In-charge Revenue Inspector K M Parameshvaraiah was attacked at his office in Jyothinagar Palya in Mulbagal on Tuesday.
The survey number of a government land at Kurubarahalli village was sent to the Revenue office of Avani hobli from the taluk office. The authenticity of the cultivation chit was asked to verify. The group which forced the officer to distribute, assaulted the officer, it is said.
Parameshwaraiah who was severely injured at his left eye was immediately rushed to the government hospital by the people and the employees of Revenue Department. He was later shifted to a hospital in Kolar.
Protest
Taluk state government employees association president K V Subramanyam, Vice President C Krishnappa, taluk village accountant association president Munivenkatappa, taluk Revenue department employees’ president Dasappa, D Group employees’ president Sanaulla, taluk government Jeep Driver’s association president Subramanya have condemned the attack and have demanded for the arrest of culprits Krishnappa, Venkatesh, Shekhar, Ravikeerthi, else they would protest on Wednesday, they warned.
Mulbagal Police Sub Inspector Prabhakar visited the spot and registered the case. Further investigation is on.
