CD of DK telephone directory released
DH News Service,Mangalore:

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched the Compact Disc (CD) version of the telephone directory of DK Telecom District.
All BSNL telephone numbers working in DK Telecom District are now available in this soft copy, updated till March 1, 2007.
Releasing the CD at a function held at the Telecom House in the City on Tuesday, MP Manorama Madhwaraj said the BSNL should give more emphasis on providing better services in the rural areas. Telecommunication services have been miserable in some of the remote areas of the district.
BSNL should take immediate measures to set right them, she suggested.
As the naxal menace has been sprouting in nook and corners of the Malnad region, means of communication have become really inevitable for the rural people. Though there are good officials and personnel in the telecom sector, the entire system gets black spots due to the mistakes of some irresponsible men in the chain, Ms Madhwaraj said.
Introducing the CD, BSNL Public Relations Officer S M Hegde said the CD could be a good gift to the people residing outside the district or country, while it is also an ‘easy to use’ version for the native customers.
DK Telecom DGM (U&A) Surendra Shenoy, Udupi DGM Vishnumurthy Mayya were present.
