Jawan kills officer
An army jawan has shot dead an officer at a forward post in Gurez sector of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, reports PTI from Srinagar. Major P Alexander was shot dead by sepoy Mohan Munda on Monday night. The jawan has been arrested and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

Plea against PM: order reserved
A Delhi court on Tuesday reserved its order for July 28 on the maintainability of a complaint filed against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for allegedly hosting a dinner party to induce voters for the presidential poll, reports PTI from New Delhi.

Marriage party reaches court
A man dressed as a groom reached a court in Muzaffarnagar with a marriage procession to protest against his alleged separation from his beloved, whom he claimed to have married, reports PTI.
Deepak (20) had allegedly eloped with a minor girl and married her a month ago, police said adding the couple had appeared before a court seeking protection.

TN minister  acquitted
A court in Thanjavur on Tuesday acquitted Tamil Nadu Cooperative Minister Ko Si Mani in a disproportionate wealth case, holding that the prosecution had failed to prove the guilt beyond doubt, reports UNI. Kumbakonam Chief Judicial Magistrate Sadasivam acquitted Mani, his wife Krishna Vellaiammal (since dead) and others.

Hyderabad-Jaipur flight
Air Deccan launched its flights linking Hyderabad with Jaipur and Jodhpur (via Ahmedabad), reports PTI from Hyderabad. A new Airbus A-320 with 180 seats has been deployed for this sector.
