Members of the both Legislative Council and Assembly are entitled to get their all medical bills reimbursed. Still, the State Government in association with a few hospitals has organised five-day health check up camp, which began on Monday.

This point is not raised by the media but by a legislator himself. MLA B R Patil (JDS) raised the need for similar well-equipped health check-up camps for the poor. Speaking to media persons  after undergoing medical tests, Mr Patil said, “the concept of the camp is good. I am witnessing this kind of camp for legislators for the first time in Vidhana Soudha. Under one umbrella we get all medical tests done. But I feel the common man of this land should enjoy the benefit of health camps with all modern facilities. They  need this kind of camp  more than us”, he said.
