A section of Bangalore’s farmers on Tuesday reacted cautiously to the State government’s move to return to land-losers 20 per cent of developed land for every acre acquired by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) for creation of industrial areas.
D S Gowda, convener of Raithara Horata Samithi welcomed the new land sharing pattern that ensures around 8,500 sq ft of developed land per acre to the land-loser that was cleared by the Cabinet on Monday, but said it was still short of expectations.
The Samithi has taken up the farmers’ cause.
